Dave Paredes - President
Dave
is the President of ENDURANCE Investment
Management, LLC. Dave is responsible for sales, marketing and
product development. Dave began his career at the
Chicago Board of Trade as an Economic Analyst in 1987.
Dave moved to American National Bank and Trust Company
of Chicago in 1989 as a senior Tax Analyst advising the
Investment Management Operations Department on the tax
consequence of corporate reorganizations. Dave then was
promoted to Corporate Analyst in the Finance Division of
JPMorgan Chase (formerly Bank One) in 1991. His responsibility included analyzing
the profitability of the bank’s institutional investment
management subsidiary, ANB Investment Management (ANB).
Dave then moved to ANB in 1993 as Marketing Manager.
Dave was responsible for marketing production and
creating relationships with the consultant community. In
1998, ANB was sold to Northern Trust and the subsidiary
was renamed Northern Trust Quantitative Advisors. Dave
was promoted to Vice President of Sales. In 2001, Dave
moved to Principal Financial Group to head up their
Taft-Hartley new sales effort concentrating on product
development and consultant relations. In December 2004,
Dave left Principal Financial to start ENDURANCE
Investment Management. Dave has a BS in Finance from
Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL 1987. NASD
Series 6, 63 & 65 licenses. Dave is a trustee
for an Illinois municipal police pension plan.
Mike Steele - Director of Portfolio
Management
Mike
is the fundamental portfolio manager responsible for
stock selection with ENDURANCE Investment Management,
LLC.
Mike started his career with Equity Office Properties,
Chicago, IL in 1995 as a Property Analyst developing new
business relationships. In 1996, Mike began his
investment career as an assistant portfolio manager with ANB Investment Management Company
(ANB), Chicago, IL., in the
active equity department managing multi-factor based
portfolios. A year later his role was expanded to manage
fixed income portfolios. In 1998, ANB was sold to
Northern Trust and renamed Northern Trust Quantitative
Advisors. Michael shifted his career focus to the equity
side of the business managing domestic small cap and
international large cap portfolios. His
responsibilities grew over time and included managing
domestic largecap portfolios and enhanced quantitative
strategies. Michael graduated in February of 2004 from
Loyola University and since January 2004 has dedicated his
time and efforts solely to forming and developing
ENDURANCE Investment Management. Mike has an BS in
Finance from DePaul University, Chicago, IL 1997 and an
MBA from Loyola University, 2004.
Rick Simek - Chief Financial Officer, CPA
Rick is the
Chief
Financial
Officer
responsible for
managing day to
day operations,
all financial
reporting
matters,
coordination of
external service
providers and
regulatory
matters. Rick
has 18 years of
public
accounting
experience where
he worked
exclusively in
the investment
management
industry. He
completed a two
year assignment
for Ernst &
Young in London
working in their
investment
management and
advisory
services
practice. He has
worked with some
of the world’s
largest
financial
institutions
including UBS
Asset
Management,
Deutsche Asset
Management,
Northern Trust,
Citigroup and
Morgan Stanley.
During his
career at Ernst
& Young Rick
specialized in
providing
business
advisory
services and
audits to broker
dealers,
investment
advisors, open
and closed end
mutual funds,
common and
collective trust
funds,
international
banks, hedge
fund managers
and funds,
commodity pool
operators (CPO),
futures
commission
merchants (FCM),
asset management
companies and
institutional
fund investment
advisors. At
Ernst & Young
Rick was one of
the firms
leading experts
providing AIMR-PPS
and GIPS
performance
reporting
services. Since
January 2004,
Rick has
dedicated his
time and efforts
solely to
forming and
developing
ENDURANCE
Investment
Management. Rick
graduated from
Northern
Illinois
University and
received his CPA
certification in
May of 1990. He
also serves on
the board of
directors for a
non profit
children’s art
museum in
Chicago.
